What is the best bass guitar for playing punk and alternative rock?
I'm a bassist in a fairly new band and I'm looking for that bass with just the right amount of growl, but mostly a lot of bottom end. I have a Fender P-Bass and I'll be getting a Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass very soon, but I was wondering if there was a better choice for the future?
If you want awesomeness, go with a Musicman Stingray. Yeah, it's crazy expensive but it's got that bottom end and great playability that will last a long time. Once you go that far, you never will really need to upgrade. I personally love the Warwick Double Buck Corvette for it's bottom end and playability (I think my fingers glide when I play it) but it's more jazzy than rock like the Stingray. Both are similar priced.
