Will a floyd rose double locking system fit in my Squier Stratocaster?
I'm going to completely change my strat, first of all putting a floyd rose in place of the original bridge. I was just wondering if it would fit?
I'm also going to fit a Seymour Duncan Invader (as my strat pickup positioning is HSS) and two Area 67's in the middle and neck positions. Feel free to tell me what you think.
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, Squire is basically just the lower-level, factory-produced Fender.
But installing a Floyd Rose is a bit of a hassle as many of the parts have to be installed into a cavity of the guitar which your axe may or may not have. If you're going to do it yourself, best of luck. If you're going to pay someone to do it, that price may not be that much different than buying a new, higher model guitar with a Floyd Rose already in place.
But if you like your guitar and really just want to upgrade, then go for it. Just be aware that you might not have the right pickup slots or bridge cavity for the new gear and extensive 'digging' around in the body could be required.
