Concepts And Ideas For Guitar Improvisation Techniques
Playing a guitar with no prior planning or preparation to a song is called guitar improvisation. It is an age-old technique and one, which leaves people breathless because of the creativity that can be shown on such a musical instrument. There are many people who would love to play like that, but it does take some disciple and a lot of practice. The good news is that it can be done and if you already know the basics in playing the guitar, then you will find learning improvisation to be quite easy.
This type of guitar playing teaches you precision and skill that will really impress people. However, to get to this level of playing, you would have to put in many hours of practice and have extreme dedication to your musical instrument. This is the most important aspect of playing any musical instrument - patience and practice.
The first method of learning improvisation is to start by playing along with your favorite music. Get to a point where you no longer can distinguish the sounds and only hear your guitar mixing perfectly with the background music. Practice with a few genres, not only your kind of music, as you will learn faster that way. Naturally, it will help if you could join up with other guitarists in jam sessions as well.
Another important aspect of playing the guitar with improvisation in mind, is to learn the chords of a song and then play some arpeggios over the changes in a song. An arpeggio is a chord with notes that are played in rapid sequence rather than at the same time. If you do not know how to play arpeggios, then you should start practicing immediately.
Do not forget to practice cord scales. The quicker your fingers can manipulate the strings the faster you will be able to make quick adjustments when improvising. To do this well you simply need to use the cords of a song instead of melodies and scales. You should be able to play a scale with a chord connected to it without fumbling.
Cord scales are important and the more you practice playing them the faster your fingers will become. This means that you simply use the cords of a song in place of scales and melodies with which to practice. The idea behind this technique is to play a scale with a chord connected to it. The more you practice this way, the easier it becomes. It should be like second nature after a while.
The above technique works well for many guitarists around the world. Remember to play from your heart, do not force the music and most of all let your creativity come through the music.

Video: The Interactive Angry Birds Christmas Lights Display (crunchgear?)
Eat your heart out, Clark Griswold. This fully interactive Christmas lights
display should erase any doubt that Angry Birds is an ubiqous fixture in pop
culture. Rovio's game was everywhere this year from unofficial Chinese
themeparks, to a cookbooks and mooncakes. Rovio's CMO Peter Vesterbacka's wife
even wore an Angry Birds formal gown to a state gala. But all of those
appearances pale in comparison to this interactive holiday lights creation.
The builder clearly found a niche. This isn't his first go at such a display.
He ported Guitar Hero to Christmas lights in 2009, which allowed for real
games thanks to the Guitar Hero controller. This time around players use a
slingshot-style controller and the cord is even long enough to reach people's
cars where audio is provided over a low-power FM transmitter. But the game is
the same. Pull birds back in anger and let them fly at the evil pigs.
